Institute of zoonosis, Jilin University
Institute of zoonosis at Jilin University, established on January 5, 2006, is the first specialized organization to study zoonosis in China. Currently the institute has four research units and one core facility center consisting of 8 research groups.The research activities of the institute are focusing on zoonotic diseases caused mainly by viral, bacterial and parasitic pathogens. In close association with the Preventive Veterinary Medicine, a National Key Discipline, the Laboratory is one of the first institutions in China that are qualified for PhD training in zoonosis.

Currently the Key Laboratory is composed of 50 staff scientists including an academician in virology, 30 professors, 6 associate professors, 3 lecturers, three senior technicians, 10 research assistants. Of whom, one professor serves as the committee member in the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, 3 professors were awarded with the prestigious National Distinguished Young Scientist Grant. The present superintendent is Professor Mingyuan Liu.
